Dov Glaser of UAppoint was recently granted a patent for this
new device.

The invention is a Wireless Digital Dental X-Ray Sensor with Positioning Apparatus.Exploiting advances in digital photography and radiography, the inventor was able to combine the workings of a digital camera, an x-ray scintillator plate and a set of five oral x-ray positioning instruments into a single universal dental x-ray sensing device, just slightly larger than a conventional bitewing holder. Could This Be Apples New Cell Phone

Could this be the new cellular phone from Apple? The iChat is rumored to be announced next week. No real information yet as to whether it will be CDMA (Verizon/Sprint) or GSM(Cingular/TMobile). How smart a phone no one knows but I assume it will be iTunes compatible.

Look for a possible announcement next week along with iPod Nanos up to 8GB with video. These Nanos could be perfect for patient education and entertainment.

Small PC For Dental Treatment Rooms

Here is a new PC that might be good for use in the office. Its small size will allow it to move from room to room.

The UX Micro, which will be available online and in stores for $1,800 in about a month, uses Intel's new Core Solo Ultra Low Voltage processor for standard PC performance in a 1.2-pound package.

It runs Windows XP Professional and has a 4.5-inch touch screen as well as a small fold-out keyboard for text entry. The PC also has built-in Wi-Fi. A built-in fingerprint scanner can lock up passwords and important data. There is a 1.3-megapixel camera on the back and another camera on the front, with a microphone, for video calls.

Less futuristically, the UX Micro comes standard with a 30-gigabyte hard drive and has a battery life of about 2.5 hours.

Back From USVI

Had a great time in St Thomas and St John. Enjoyed the snorkeling and scuba diving. One of the most interesting things in traveling was the space in the overhead bins on the aircraft. With the new security requirements no extra stuff was carried on. It was strange to have my computer bag alone in an overhead bin. Usually people are fighting for overhead bin space. Weather was great and I look forward to another return trip to the Virgin Islands. Next it will be St. Kitts! Now back to our regular programing...Tech Stuff
