Whats New At The ADA- Seeing the Light

There were two products being introduced that involve light. Kerr has released its new Demi Plus LED Curing Light and  DentLights New DOE Wand for  cancer detection

Demi Plus, powered by Demetron Technology, is the next generation in premium curing lights. It combines sophisticated engineering with design advancements that enhance performance and deliver consistent cures while allowing you to focus on what’s truly important—your practice.

The Demi Plus builds upon this legacy and continues to offer the same compelling features that have made the Demi such a commercial success, including:

  • Lightweight, ergonomic design
  • Interchangeable Light Guides
  • Whisper-quiet fan
  • Multiple Curing Options
  • Periodic Level Shifting

Periodic Level Shifting (PLS)

Demi employs the power of Periodic Level Shifting, or PLS technology, shifting output intensity from 1,100 mW/cm2 to a peak of 1,330 mW/cm2 multiple times throughout the curing cycle with a wavelength of 450 to 470 nm. PLS drives cool, continuous high output for a true 5-second cure without generating excessive heat.

I have a Demi Plus and it is bright. On my radiometer it measures almost 2000 mw/cm2. So it should cure any composite  quickly and will work well with the new bulk fill composites.

DenLight Inc., innovators of the award winning FUSION Curing Light, Nano Loupe Light and high technology LED optics lighting systems, is pleased to announce the launch of DOE ‐ a rechargeable battery powered cordless dental oral health examination system. It is designed for visualization of mucosal abnormalities and oral lesions including oral cancer based on proven and patent‐pending magnified fluorescence imaging technology.

DOE full system consists of a cordless wand with an interchangeable light head (White and Violet) that illuminates high power collimated LED beam, high contrast magnified fluorescence filters, charging stand, power adapter, and patient protective eyewear goggle. DOE is offered for the general dentists and oral surgeons at an affordably price of under $2,000 for the full kit and under $1,000 for current FUSION curing light users with an upgrade starter kit.

I have a Fusion LED and a Nano Head Lamp and they both pack a mighty light punch in a small package.
